New Samsung phone with Snapdragon 660, 6GB RAM spotted online

New Samsung phone with Snapdragon 660, 6GB RAM spotted online

While everyone is waiting eagerly for the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung is planning to launch a new smartphone shortly. We say this because a new device codenamed as Samsung SM-A5300 has just been spotted on Geekbench (via SamMobile).

Looking at the model name, we assume this smartphone to be the successor of Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017). To remind you, the Galaxy A5 (2017) carried the model name SM-A5200. The Geekbench listing has revealed some of the specifications of the Samsung SM-A5300. It is shown to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, which is currently the most efficient mid-range chipset. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) features an in-house Exynos 7880 processor.

Pairing the chipset on the upcoming Samsung phone is 6GB of RAM, which sounds quite ridiculous, to be honest. There are only a few smartphones featuring this amount of RAM and all of them are flagships. So it is unlikely for a mid-range device to pack 6GB of RAM. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with only 3GB of RAM. However, you should also keep in mind that benchmark listings often give out inaccurate information. There is also another possibility; Samsung may have decided to launch a Pro version of the Galaxy A5 (2017). Well, before you get your hopes high, this version is most likely to be an exclusive for the Chinese market. Moving on, the Geekbench listing further reveals the Samsung SM-A5300 will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat right out of the box. Unfortunately, this is all we know about this smartphone at the moment. Hopefully, it will make its way to other benchmark sites as well in the upcoming days.

Very recently, we reported that Samsung introduced a new line of high-end mobile optimized audio series , Level, which spans a wide array of options. In this review, we’re taking a look at a premium in-ear solution – the Samsung Level In. For something priced above the $100 mark, the Samsung Level In doesn’t look or feel premium, which is a sad realization. Visually, it looks exactly like almost any other ordinary pair of headphones that come with the purchase of a smartphone – so there’s nothing too special here. Donning a white finish, one that’s comprised out of plastic, the Level In has a hollow feel. Indeed, there are chrome acce...
