Micromax Canvas Plex Tab to be launched soon in India



Yesterday, Micromax unveiled the Canvas Infinity smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ratio edge-to-edge display at a price point of Rs. 9,999. While smartphone that is exclusive to Amazon India is yet to go on sale, the company seems to be all set to unveil their first tablet of this year.



According to the latest information that GizBot has received, Micromax has joined hands with Eros Now, the digital platform of Eros International to launch a tablet called Canvas Plex Tab. It is claimed that this tablet will be launched in India in the coming weeks. If you don't remember, Micromax and Eros Now tied up in the last year in order to build up a portfolio of devices that will offer an outstanding digital experience to the consumers. According to the partnership, the Eros Now app will be pre-installed in the Micromax devices.


Besides the information about the name of the Micromax tablet and that it is slated to be launched in the coming weeks, GizBot has also received a couple of images of the Canvas Plex Tab. These images show that the tablet will be a budget device featuring a plastic build. The rear panel also shows the main camera located at the top left corner along with LED flash. From the image, we can infer that the design would be similar to the one that we have seen on the previous Canvas tablets. Also, it appears to be a 7-inch or 8-inch device.
One of the images shows the retail box of the alleged Micromax Canvas Plex Tab. From the retail box, it is seen that the tablet is targeted towards the entertainment buffs who prefer watching movies and streaming videos on the tablet. Going by the information that we have received, the Canvas Plex Tab will run on Android Nougat out of the box and feature DTS Sound for audio output

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, commerce and industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that "requests regarding such rebate were examined and... not accepted." Malware apps make their way to Google Play Store Security firm Lookout has detected a series of malicious mobile phone apps that can remotely control the infected smartphones. The app that goes by the name SonicSpy has at least three versions that made their way to the Google Play Store.   This has compromised the security of Android device users. The malware once installed on a device functions as a messaging app however in the background it takes over several functions of a device which includes the ability to send text messages, make calls, access contacts, and Wi-Fi data.
