HMD to launch a smartphone with larger display than Nokia 8

HMD to launch a smartphone with larger display than Nokia 8

A couple of days ago, HMD Global finally announced the much-anticipated Nokia 8 at an event held in London.

Unlike the other Nokia smartphones launched earlier this year like Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, the Nokia 8 flaunts a premium design and high-end specifications. The flagship device has been the center of attraction for the last few months. The smartphone has been launched at €599 (approximately Rs. 45,000) and will be available in the global markets starting from early September. While we are still drooling over the Nokia 8, HMD seems to have started working on another smartphone. Neil Broadley, Global Marketing Manager for HMD, has made this revelation in an interview to a Russian publication named 4pda.ru. The upcoming smartphone that is yet to be named, is likely to "to meet the needs of absolutely all users." Unfortunately, he has not revealed any other information about the handset. While a larger display doesn't necessarily mean that, it could be a flagship. If this is the case, we are unlikely to see the unveiling of the smartphone this year. Most probably, HMD will introduce it in Q1 2018. He has also said that the Finnish company does not want to join the rat race with giants like Samsung and Apple. HMD will rather "focus on what will be best for users." Well, it does sound interesting. Apparently, the manufacturer is currently trying to bring back the glory days of Nokia. Once that is established, it will shift the focus to earning revenues.

Why the Nokia X is the best phone you'll never buy In Depth What's its X-factor? The Nokia X hasn't made much impression in the US and UK, but it's a bestseller elsewhere in the world While 2014 will likely be remembered for its Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony and Apple flagships, it's a trio of budget Nokia handsets that have been among the most unexpected and surprising releases so far. We're talking of course about the dramatically named Nokia X and its siblings the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL . They're phones which had tongues wagging ever since they were first rumoured for the simple reason that they were Nokia devices running Android . When they were finally revealed there was perhaps a sense of disappointment at just how low end they were, but that hasn't stopped the Nokia X from selling. According to Saulo Passos, Head of Communications, Mobile Phones at Microsoft Devices Group it's "getting a tremendous consumer respon
