WWDC 2014 : le keynote d'Apple à suivre sur Clubic

 C'est ce soir à 19 h qu'Apple donnera le coup d'envoi de la WWDC 2014 avec la traditionnelle conférence d'ouverture. Celle-ci sera comme chaque année l'occasion de présenter plusieurs nouveautés. Clubic se mobilise pour l'événement.

La Worldwide Developers Conference d'Apple est comme son nom l'indique un événement dédié à tous ceux qui élaborent des logiciels et des applications pour Mac, pour iPhone, pour iPad et pour iPod Touch. Mais le discours d'ouverture, ou keynote, sera comme chaque année l'occasion de présenter les futures évolutions de l'univers Apple. Le PDG Tim Cook et ses plus proches collaborateurs se relaieront sur scène à cet effet.

iOS 8, OS X 10.10… et maison connectée ou nouvel iPhone ?


Apple présentera notamment iOS 8, qui devrait intégrer des fonctions liées au bien-être et à la santé. Cupertino présentera également le successeur d'OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.10 Syrah, qui risque fort d'accueillir les principes esthétiques et ergonomiques inaugurés par Jonathan Ive sur iOS 7.

Bien que la WWDC ne soit pas un événement consacré au matériel, Apple pourrait bien annoncer des mises à niveau de ses Mac dans la foulée.

Le clou du spectacle enfin, le traditionnel « One more thing », pourrait bien concerner la maison connectée, la domotique, le smart home. Plusieurs informateurs ont récemment convergé dans cette direction.

A moins que ce ne soit un nouvel iPhone, l'iPhone 6. Certains pensent effectivement qu'Apple avancera sa présentation, pour qu'un autre produit prenne sa place à la rentrée, au mois de septembre.

India rejects demands by Apple on tax incentives India has finally rejected key demands by Apple for customs duty rebate on imported equipment for making iphones in the country. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, commerce and industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that "requests regarding such rebate were examined and... not accepted." Sitharaman said the government has received representations seeking concessions, including 30 percent local sourcing of component, duty exemption on manufacturing and repair units, components, capital equipment and consumables for smart phone manufacturing, service, and repair. She further said that there would be no exemption from basic customs duty, countervailing duty (CVD) and special additional duty (SAD) on imports of articles needed for the repair of the mobile phones. Malware apps make their way to Google Play Store

Malware apps make their way to Google Play Store Security firm Lookout has detected a series of malicious mobile phone apps that can remotely control the infected smartphones. The app that goes by the name SonicSpy has at least three versions that made their way to the Google Play Store.   This has compromised the security of Android device users. The malware once installed on a device functions as a messaging app however in the background it takes over several functions of a device which includes the ability to send text messages, make calls, access contacts, and Wi-Fi data. Lookout stated that the developer who came up with the malware is most probably based in Iraq. The developer fabricated close to a thousand messaging apps that were malicious in nature and were developed to hijack user's smartphone.
